Japan Sets Sights on Martian Moons for Pioneering Mission

Japanese researchers are gearing up for an ambitious project to explore Mars’ moons, aiming to gather samples that could reveal vital insights into the solar system's formation and the origins of life on Earth. The Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission is scheduled to launch from Tanegashima Space Center soon, with an orbital stay around Mars lasting three years and a targeted landing on Phobos.
This endeavor comes amid competition from a similar Chinese mission, racing to achieve the same objectives.
