Marib Under Siege: Houthi Strikes Intensify Amid Civilian Toll

The city of Marib in Yemen is reeling from a series of Houthi missile and drone attacks that have struck residential areas, resulting in injuries and property damage.
On Saturday, local authorities reported that four ballistic missiles and four drones targeted the city, followed by a fifth missile later that day, injuring at least one individual. A sixth missile was launched overnight, exacerbating fears among residents.
Marib, home to over two million internally displaced people, is particularly vulnerable, with the provincial authority condemning the strikes as an ongoing assault on civilians and displaced persons' camps. Video evidence shows extensive destruction from the attacks.
These incidents mark a troubling escalation in violence, highlighted by clashes further south where Yemeni government forces claimed to have killed several Houthi fighters in counterattacks. The resurgence of hostilities has raised alarms about a potential return to full-scale war, as emphasized by the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg.
