Tragic Toll as Indiana Faces Severe Flooding and Storms

Indiana is grappling with the aftermath of devastating storms and flooding that have claimed at least five lives. The Midwestern state has been drenched with record rainfall, leading to dangerous conditions and widespread rescues.
Governor Mike Braun has called for a Presidential Emergency Declaration, allowing the state to access crucial federal resources. He announced that President Trump is expected to approve this request, highlighting the urgency of the situation. "I’m grateful to President Trump for his commitment to getting Hoosiers the federal assistance we need as we continue responding and recovering," Braun noted in a statement.
Rescue teams have been deployed, using boats to reach those trapped in their homes. The flooding is reported to be the worst in over three decades, with some areas receiving more than 11 inches of rain in just two days. Tragedy struck as a 58-year-old woman, among others, lost her life attempting to navigate flooded roads. Braun has urged residents to heed warnings and avoid floodwaters.
