Mayor Mamdani Look-Alike Contest Draws Crowds in NYC

On Sunday, Washington Square Park became the vibrant backdrop for a unique look-alike contest celebrating New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Hundreds attended to see who could best mimic the mayor's iconic style.

Amadeo Fusca emerged victorious, donning a Knicks jersey beneath a tailored suit, complete with a haircut and beard reminiscent of Mamdani. He took home a $100 prize for his efforts. The contest, sponsored by the social media app Sonder, featured nine contestants dressed in various iterations of Mamdani’s fashion, including his signature brown suit from the 2025 campaign.

Participants answered a playful question about their favorite pizza, and the winner was determined by audience applause. Initially, the gathering was disrupted by police due to a permitting issue, prompting attendees to relocate just outside the park.
