Meta has transformed game development with its new app, Pocket, launched on August 21 after acquiring staff from the defunct Gizmo. This innovative tool allows users to generate interactive "gizmos" simply by typing prompts, eliminating the need for coding knowledge.
Emulating the addictive nature of social media, Pocket features a TikTok-style interface for sharing creations. After a week of exploring its capabilities, I quickly produced engaging game prototypes through conversation with an AI model. However, these creations remain confined within Meta's ecosystem, raising concerns about their long-term viability and accessibility.
