"People do not really want smarter devices," Zhang explains. "They want to focus better, relax, recover, or spend time on something they care about." Privacy is another critical aspect of LiveLarge's design philosophy. To build user trust, the L-Space is engineered for local data processing, using an NVIDIA Jetson Orin as its AI computer. Individual voiceprints allow for personalized experiences while maintaining strict boundaries regarding data access among family members.

Zhang describes the L-Space as a "concept car," emphasizing the importance of transitioning from prototype to product. While the lab environment allows for precise control over conditions, real-world applications present unique challenges, from installation to ongoing functionality. "A feature is not finished when it works once," he notes. "It is finished when it works repeatedly in the customer's space." This commitment to reliability is crucial as LiveLarge prepares for wider deployment of its technology.

Looking ahead, Zhang envisions a future where homes are as integrated as our personal devices. He asserts that the intelligence within a home should not be tied to its physical location; rather, it should adapt and move with its inhabitants.
