In response to the skyrocketing demand for AI technology, SK Hynix is exploring a potential joint venture for memory chip production in Japan. Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Inc., revealed the company is evaluating various sites for this collaboration during recent business meetings in Sendai.
As a key player in the AI sector, Icheon-based SK Hynix plays a vital role in supplying memory products to giants like Nvidia. The company is not only focused on Japan but is also expanding its global footprint, recently inaugurating a chip packaging facility in Indiana.
