Syrian Foreign Minister's Official Visit to Islamabad Marks New Chapter in Relations

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani touched down in Islamabad on Thursday, embarking on an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between Pakistan and Syria.

The Pakistani Foreign Office welcomed him, sharing images of the minister’s arrival on social media. This visit is notable as it marks the first by a Syrian foreign minister since 2007, following a significant governmental shift in Syria.

The discussions planned will cover a wide range of bilateral relations, focusing on enhancing cooperation and addressing regional issues. This visit comes on the heels of Pakistan’s condemnation of Israel's recent airstrikes in Syria, which were described as a violation of international law that could destabilize the region.
