Taliban Marks Five Years in Power at Delhi Embassy Celebration

The Afghanistan Embassy in Delhi recently hosted an event celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Taliban's regime on August 17, 2026, dubbed 'Victory Day.'
Dr. Ikramuddin Kamil, the Consul General of Afghanistan in Mumbai, and Mufti Noor Ahmed Noor, the Charge d'Affaires at the embassy, were among the attendees, along with M. Anand Prakash, Joint Secretary for the Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran Division in the Ministry of External Affairs.
While the Taliban marked this milestone on August 15, 2026, their administration faces criticism from international organizations and the United Nations for failing to address ongoing humanitarian crises in Afghanistan, particularly regarding severe restrictions on women's rights.
