Tamagotchi Evolves: Bandai Unveils Wearable Ring Version
By Editor • August 30, 2026 • 1 min read
In a remarkable twist on a classic, Bandai has introduced the Tamagotchi Ring, a wearable version of the beloved virtual pet, marking a significant evolution in the franchise as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. This ring, the 39th entry in the series, is notably smaller than its keychain predecessor, measuring just 28 mm tall and housing a 0.56-inch color LCD.
The design process was no small feat; it took two years to compact 64 components—52 electronic and 12 plastic—into this tiny form. The display is the smallest color LCD ever used in a Tamagotchi, and the device now features a rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for coin cell replacements.
Despite its size, the Tamagotchi Ring offers a full experience with 30 characters to raise, minigames, and room customization, all while sitting elegantly on the finger like a piece of jewelry. Available in three distinct color combinations, the ring accommodates a range of sizes with an included adapter.
While the battery life details remain undisclosed, preorders began on August 27, 2026, and shipping is set to start in February 2027, leaving international fans relying on third-party imports for now.
