‘The Odyssey’ Dominates South Korean Box Office Again

In a stellar performance at the South Korean box office from August 28 to 30, Christopher Nolan’s epic film “The Odyssey” retained its number one position. The film raked in an impressive $8.7 million, drawing over a million viewers and capturing a staggering 64.7% of the weekend's total earnings.

Since its debut on August 5, “The Odyssey” has grossed $71.7 million from nearly 9 million admissions, solidifying its status as a summer blockbuster.

Trailing behind in second place was “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which earned $1.9 million during its fifth weekend, contributing to a total of $65 million since its release. The local family drama “The Journey to Gyeongju” debuted in third, attracting 124,963 viewers and generating $912,660.

Other notable entries included “The End of Oak Street” and “Teenieping: Legend of the Whale Heartstone,” which secured fourth and fifth places, respectively. “Insidious: Out of the Further” and “Detective Conan the Movie: Fallen Angel of the Highway” were among the other films in the top ten, with the overall market gross for the weekend totaling $13.5 million, a drop from the previous week's earnings.
