The disaster unfolded on Wednesday morning around 9 a.m., originating in Nepal and subsequently impacting Gyirong county in Tibet, which falls under the jurisdiction of Shigatse city, according to information from Xinhua.
Shocking footage shared online captured the moment the landslide rapidly engulfed the checkpoint, forcing individuals on the ground to flee as torrents of mud and debris quickly obscured the area.
