Milwaukee's vibrant hip-hop scene mourns the loss of rapper Funny $Money, who was fatally shot on August 17 at the age of 33. Known offstage as Quentene Williams, he was a prominent figure in the city's music community, collaborating with various local artists, including Sme Taxfree and Chicken P.
Funny $Money's nephew shared a poignant last exchange, recalling, "The last thing I said to my uncle was, ‘I love you and be safe.’ He said, ‘I’m always safe.’” His discography included the notable 2022 album, Don’t Talk 2 Much, featuring the popular track “Rocky Balboa.”
In a 2025 interview, he reflected on his journey, stating, “I love rap…but I was too focused on the street life,” highlighting his determination to pursue music despite past struggles.
