Tragic NYC Explosion Tied to E-Bike Battery Claims Teen Life

A devastating explosion in a Brooklyn housing complex over the weekend has resulted in the death of an 18-year-old, with fire officials attributing the incident to a lithium-ion battery from an e-bike.
The fire erupted around 7 p.m. on Friday at the Albany Houses, located at 162 Troy Avenue in Crown Heights. At least 34 fire trucks responded to the scene, battling flames and smoke that engulfed the building.
First responders discovered the unconscious teenager inside an apartment, who later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and the investigation into the incident continues.
