Bruce Campbell Faces Cancer Diagnosis with Resilience: 'I’ve Decided to Live With It'

Bruce Campbell, the iconic star of the Evil Dead franchise, is opening up about his recent cancer diagnosis, sharing a stark prognosis while maintaining a spirited outlook on life. During a recent episode of The Adam Carolla Show, Campbell revealed that doctors have given him a five-year window, 'give or take,' without disclosing the specific type of cancer he is dealing with.

Despite the heavy news, Campbell's determination shines through as he emphasizes his choice to confront the illness head-on. 'With the type of cancer that I have… the current thing is a five-year deal,' he said. 'I’ve decided pretty specifically though to live with it, not die from it.' He also cautioned against getting lost in the overwhelming amount of information available about cancer, stating, 'You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have exactly what you have. I won’t touch it with a 10-foot pole.'

While promoting his new film, Ernie & Emma, Campbell expressed his desire to live life normally despite his health challenges. 'When I promote this movie, I have nothing. I’m free and clear when I promote this movie,' he stated. He further explained that cancer doesn't define one's existence: 'You don’t die from cancer, you die from what cancer does to you.' This candid approach reflects his resilience as he plans to continue pursuing his career while managing his treatment.
