Escalation in Lebanon: Israeli Strikes Result in Casualties Amid Ceasefire

By Editor • September 5, 2026 • 1 min read

In a troubling turn of events, Israeli airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon late Friday have left at least three dead and 23 injured, according to the Lebanese health ministry. These attacks occurred despite an ongoing ceasefire between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah.

The strikes targeted five locations across the Tyre and Nabatieh regions, as well as the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon. Reports indicate that the airstrikes intensified in the Nabatieh area, including an assault on the village of Rmadiyeh, situated over 10 kilometers from the Israeli border. Local sources revealed that among the casualties, two young men were killed while riding a motorcycle in Nabatieh, with their bodies subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.

Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that one of the strikes occurred near the strategic Ali al-Taher ridge, an area claimed by the Israeli army, although Hezbollah has yet to acknowledge any territorial loss. The Lebanese health ministry's report highlighted that the injuries sustained included two children, three women, and six rescuers, underscoring the dire impact of the ongoing conflict on civilians.
