IKEA designer David Wahl, a passionate gamer himself, ensured that the stool not only mimics the thumbstick's iconic shape but also retains its original grip texture and slight movement. 'It even moves the way a thumbstick does, so it tilts with you while you play,' Wahl explains.

As gaming spaces evolve, IKEA and Xbox recognized the need for furniture that accommodates modern gaming habits. Philip Dilé, Product Design Developer at IKEA, notes that gaming is now about relaxation and social interaction as much as performance. The collection reflects this shift, featuring a rolling TV stand designed for easy mobility, allowing players to transport their gaming setup throughout the home.

YXSTABY's design philosophy focuses on blending gaming aesthetics with traditional home decor. The collection uses a muted palette of white, black, and beige, accented by green details that signal storage spaces for gaming gear.
