Sandra Bullock Reflects on Career Choices and Unwanted Auditions

Sandra Bullock recently opened up about her acting journey during a candid conversation with Jennifer Aniston for Interview magazine, shedding light on the challenges she faced early in her career.

Sharing her experiences, Bullock recounted her time as a waitress in New York, where she found herself auditioning for roles that made her uncomfortable. "I was auditioning for every pervert that existed, asking me to drop my pants. I was like, ‘Nope, not the role for me,’" she recalled, emphasizing her determination to rise above such degrading opportunities.

In the interview, Bullock also discussed her strategic shift away from romantic comedies, which she felt were overshadowing her career. "The only time I was intentional about my career was when I decided to pivot away from rom-coms," she explained. This pivotal choice led her to the acclaimed film Crash, which won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2006. Bullock later captured the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Blind Side.

Currently, Bullock stars in Practical Magic 2, her first film in four years. The sequel opened to impressive numbers, grossing $13 million on Friday and projected to reach around $30 million for the weekend.
