The Porsche 911 has received a striking transformation by Tangent Design Group, elevating the iconic sports car for an adventurous urban experience. This Chicago-based design studio has lifted the 2021 Carrera 4 by three inches, enhancing its rugged appeal while maintaining the classic 911 silhouette.
From Concept to Creation
Initiated in 2019 after a previous 911 project, Tangent's Urban Safari began with a vision to push the limits of the standard 992 without straying into rally car territory. The design team meticulously scanned the original car, extracting geometric data for precision modifications. They crafted new body components, including wider arches and a distinctive ducktail, all while maintaining a tactile approach with physical prototypes.
A Unique Aesthetic and Functional Features
The standout modification is the custom lift that accommodates larger off-road tires, reshaping the 911's profile dramatically. The vehicle, finished in a unique Paint-to-Sample Black Olive, showcases yellow graphics and functional elements like a bull bar with amber lights and a roof rack equipped with recovery gear, including a Gerber axe. These details not only enhance its off-road capability but also inject a sense of fun into the design.
