A controversial adaptation of the classic game Tetris, created by the White House, has been taken down from its official website following backlash from The Tetris Company. The game, titled 'Build the Wall,' was designed to promote anti-immigration sentiments but faced immediate criticism for its gameplay and messaging.
In 'Build the Wall,' players were tasked with stacking bricks to fend off a fictional 'Zombie Border siege.' Unlike traditional Tetris, where completed lines disappear, the blocks in this version remained on the screen, leading to a frustrating experience that culminated in a 'Border Breached' message as the play area filled up.
Amidst the uproar, The Tetris Company made it clear that it had no affiliation with the game, emphasizing its commitment to protecting its intellectual property. Amerika Garcia Grewal, co-director of the Frontera Federation, criticized the game's creators for their lack of empathy, stating they had 'lost touch with what it means to be human and care for others.'
