Joblessness Tops Concerns for Argentines Amid Economic Struggles

In a recent survey by Opina Argentina, unemployment has surged ahead of inflation as the primary concern for citizens, with 36% of respondents prioritizing job security. This shift reflects a growing anxiety about economic stability, as 64% fear potential job losses within their families.

Corruption follows closely behind at 32%, while inflation has dropped to 11%, indicating a significant change in public sentiment. The survey, conducted online with 1,507 participants from August 7 to 11, revealed that 60% anticipate their personal circumstances will worsen, a stark increase from previous months.

Moreover, the economic outlook is grim, with 48% struggling to make ends meet and 75% spending nothing on leisure activities. The government’s proposed economic bills, including the Inviolability of Private Property Law and the Fiscal Innocence Law, face heavy opposition, with rejection rates exceeding 58%.
