Manchester City Pursues Young Talent Ayyoub Bouaddi for £85 Million

Manchester City is in advanced discussions with Lille to secure the services of 18-year-old Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi for approximately £85 million. This move comes on the heels of City’s recent agreement to sell Rodri to Barcelona.

Bouaddi showcased his skills during the World Cup, starting five of Morocco's six matches as they reached the quarter-finals. He also played a pivotal role in Lille's Champions League triumph over Real Madrid in 2024, marking his emergence on the international stage.

Since his debut in October 2023, just after his 16th birthday, Bouaddi has made 88 appearances for Lille, helping them secure a third-place finish in Ligue 1 last season. His deep-lying playmaking abilities are expected to complement new signing Elliot Anderson, enhancing City’s midfield options.

As City prepares for life without Rodri, who is set to join Barcelona for £65 million, it remains to be seen how Bouaddi’s potential signing might influence their interest in Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.
