US Treasury Secretary Declares Economic War on Iran

The tension between the United States and Iran has escalated, with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announcing a harsh financial campaign against the Iranian regime. In a recent opinion piece for the Financial Times, Bessent warned that the US is poised to implement what he called "the single greatest financial offensive ever," aiming to isolate Iran completely economically.
Bessent emphasized that any nation engaging financially with Iran would face similar isolation, marking what he referred to as an "economic D-Day." This aggressive stance comes amid ongoing hostilities in the region, which he claims are nearing their conclusion.
In response, Iran dismissed Bessent's threats, asserting that it would halt all oil exports from the region if the conflict persists. The Iranian regime has also issued a warning to shipping traffic through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for global oil and gas supplies, where Iranian control has intensified since late February.
