NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Fisk College acquired a $ 500,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Basis to assist make faculty artwork extra accessible to college students and the group.
The 2-year grant consists of funding for a registrar and a collections supervisor, in addition to gallery coordinators, in accordance with a press launch from the traditionally black faculty in Nashville, Tennessee. The varsity introduced the award final week.
The grant may even assist Fisk enhance its storage services and protect its African Modernist assortment. An upcoming exhibition, African Modernism in America, 1947–1967, will likely be touring in 2022. It’s a partnership with the American Federation of the Arts.
