A devastating collapse at Conakry's Dar es Salam landfill has resulted in at least 30 fatalities, following torrential rains that struck the area. The landslide occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday, burying nearby homes under tons of waste.
Rescue teams are currently working to find survivors among the debris, with six individuals critically injured and transported to hospitals. The landfill, set for closure that same day, had seen residents issued eviction notices, yet many remained in the vicinity during the disaster.
