By Editor • September 2, 2026 • 1 min read

The NBA has delivered a significant blow to the Los Angeles Clippers and star Kawhi Leonard following a year-long investigation into the team's practices. The league announced that the Clippers must forfeit five first-round draft picks from 2029 to 2033 due to serious misconduct and salary cap violations.

Additionally, the Clippers face a hefty $30 million fine, while owner Steve Ballmer and president Gillian Zucker are suspended for a year, with Zucker receiving no pay. General Manager Lawrence Frank is suspended for six months. Leonard himself is fined $700,000, and his uncle, Dennis Robertson, is banned from NBA activities for five years.
